Dubai changes with the month: heat decides what you do outdoors.
City, desert and coast fit in the same short trip — if the heat allows. Monthly means at Dubai International Airport (WMO 41194) rise from about 20 ºC in January to about 36 ºC in August. These are means, not daily maxima, and they do not forecast your week. From December to March streets, beach and terraces are more usable; from June to September the day shifts to water and indoors. November is already transition: still hot.
| If you value | December to March | June to September |
|---|---|---|
| Street and beach | Walks and coast more comfortable. | Early mornings; midday needs shade and water. |
| Desert | Milder evenings and nights. | Still possible, with more residual heat. |
| Families | More time outdoors between attractions. | Indoor parks, shopping centres and the pool matter more. |
Who it is for — and who it is not
Dubai is for you if you accept that the month decides what you do outdoors. From December to March, city, beach and one desert evening fit in a single base. In summer the trip is still possible, but it changes: mornings, water, shopping centres and less midday outdoors. Families who want parks and a pool cope better with the heat than anyone imagining a full day of walking. One hotel area avoids midday transfers in August.
Do not choose Dubai if you want an island without skyscrapers. Nor should you expect tropical-beach heat in January: the airport-station mean is about 20 ºC, not 28 ºC. Anyone who wants only desert and quiet should compare other bases; here the city is always in the plan.
Planning example (not a package): for six nights in the coolest months I would mix the city, one desert evening and the beach without changing hotels. In August I would choose a hotel with a good pool and cut time outdoors. Give your preferred departure airport.
What should appear in the proposal
- Dates and hotel area (Marina, Downtown, the coast or another).
- Transfer, meal plan and what is excluded from parks or the desert.
- Whether you want a desert evening, a theme park or just the city.
- Whether intense heat is negotiable — that changes the hotel and the outdoor plan.
- Ages, if you are travelling as a family.
