A family holiday starts before the destination.
When several ages travel together, a good choice has to work in the details: flight times, room, meals, distance to the restaurant, beach, pool and rest. Instead of starting with a list of hotels, I start by understanding who is travelling and what will make the days easier for everyone.
What I need to know
- children’s ages and bed or room configuration;
- allergies, food preferences and the board basis that makes routines easier;
- tolerance for connections, long transfers and changing accommodation;
- activities the family enjoys and how much free time you want.
What I compare in a proposal
I check the hotel’s actual location, access, type of beach, pool, meal times and kids’ club conditions when available. I also confirm what the package includes for flights, baggage, transfers, insurance and activities. A photograph of a family room does not replace confirmation of occupancy and accepted ages.
Cape Verde can be a starting point
The current catalogue includes Sol Dunas Family Sun on Sal and Hotel Riu Touareg on Boa Vista, both all-inclusive in different setups. The public Sal listing contains no flight details, so the airport, connection and transfer need to be defined in the proposal. On Boa Vista, the hotel status and availability should also be confirmed before booking.
